6.5′ long plastic terminal bar for mechanical fastening.

Mechanical fastening of vapor barrier to the wall is not only code standard, it’s the smart thing to do.  Utilize ISI terminal bars with any crawlspace barrier from PDS.  Highly recommended for 6 mil or thicker barriers.  Terminal bars prevent the vapor barrier from pulling off the wall.

Installation steps:

• Mark wall and terminal bar for pre-drilling VIPER PIN holes
• Drill 1/4″ holes with masonry screws through term bar at intervals of 2-3′
• When placing barrier up against wall with sealant, hammer in VIPER PINs aka “Christmas tree fasteners” in the predrilled holes to secure the terminal bar against the barrier/wall.
• Angled term bar allows for additional sealant to be placed behind the term bar in between the vapor barrier and wall
• Finish by running a razor blade box cutter along the term bar to remove excess barrier for a nice clean look
