“Passive” is a term in radon that I wish to eliminate. Since, passive systems do not work year-round in most of the lower 48; I prefer the terms “pre-plumbed” or “radon-ready”. Radon ready new construction systems (RRNC) are required in vast swaths of the country. Unfortunately, code enforcement for these requirements is nearly non-existent. If you read most post below, you’ll find common errors that builders looking to “check a box” make. These errors render systems useless. Be sure your RRNC system is designed right the first time with our free takeoff form at www.RadonMat.com. Pre-plumbed systems can often be activated with quiet-energy efficient fans like the Rn2EC or PDS 150.
