The US EPA recommends testing every home in America at least once every five years. If you have an existing radon system, the EPA recommends testing every two. The reason being: radon systems have moving parts and moving parts eventually fail. The other reason–that the industry is hesitant to talk about–is that not every radon system works properly 365 days per year. The articles below have more relevant information, but at the end of the day repeated radon testing is the only way to ensure your radon system is functioning properly.
